Send Personnel for On-Site Work with Canadian ICT Visa
Canadian Intra Company Transfer or International Mobility initiative allows an enterprise to send its employees (skilled overseas nationals) to work in the country; provided it has a subsidiary, branch, affiliate or the parent organization in Canada. The ICT comes with an LMIA (Labour Market Impact Assessment) exemption. However, compliance with all Temporary Work requisites is mandated. One might need to acquire a Canadian Temporary Work Visa.
Canadian ICT Visa Requirements
The issuance of the ICT permits demands the fulfilment of separate criteria for the employees and the enterprises. Refer to the details below:
For the Employees
- Currently employed by an organization, applying for entry in Canada to work in the parent/ subsidiary/ affiliate/ branch of the same.
- Employed by a Canadian enterprise with qualifying attributes as mentioned in the segment below.
- A resource with specialized skills and knowledge (advanced expertise or proprietary knowledge), or promoted as a senior manager, executive, and likewise, and transferred to Canada.
- Employed with the concerned organization for a minimum of 1 year as a full-time employee in the last three years.
- Compliance with all necessary immigration regulations.
For the Businesses
- Physical premises to take forward the organizational operations in Canada (conditions apply, not mandatory).
- Furnish a rational plan for the execution of operations.
- Furnish proof of funds to establish, conduct business activities, and pay the employees.
- Demonstrate the ability to support management function (when transferring senior management).
- Demonstrate plan of business generation, along with the assurance of management’s supervision (when transferring personnel with specialized knowledge and skills).
