British Columbia Provincial Nominee Program Entrepreneur Immigration: Regional Pilot
There are three distinct streams under the British Columbia PNP Program, namely:
Skills Immigration
Express Entry
Business/Entrepreneur Immigration
The business/entrepreneur immigration stream is designed to target individuals with a substantial net worth, with the wish to own or establish a business and operate the same in British Columbia and settle down in the region eventually. This program is further sub-divided into three streams, namely:
- Entrepreneur/business immigration
- Entrepreneur/business immigration – regional pilot program
- Strategic projects.
BCPNP Business Immigration Regional Pilot: Eligibility Criteria
The BCPNP Business Immigration Regional Pilot Program allows entrepreneurs to set up businesses in the communities (smaller) within the province of British Columbia. There are two sets of eligibility criteria; one for individual candidates and the other for the communities. Refer to the details given below.
Candidates
- Have entered the country or province legally.
- The minimum net worth of $300,000 (personal and legally acquired).
- Minimum investment amount of $100,000 (either start or acquire a new business or expand an existing business in the province of British Columbia).
- At least have 51% ownership in a newly established business.
- Create at least one job opportunity in your business for a citizen or PR of Canada.
- Level 4 language competency in English or French (reading, speaking, listening, and writing).
- Experience in running a business or management experience.
- Visit and explore the provincial community.
Communities
- The maximum population of 75,000 people.
- The location has to be at a gap of at least 30 kilometres from a municipality with more than a population of 75,000.
- Display the ability to support the business via a robust network of business support organizations and an established settlement.
Regional Pilot Key Features
- Involvement with the Community: The communities participating in the regional pilot program of BCPNP show a positive and active approach in welcoming foreign investors and entrepreneurs, extending help in settling down.
- British Columbia Provincial Nominee Program Referrals: The local communities can nominate an entrepreneur for British Columbia Provincial Nominee Program.
- Concierge of the Community: The communities participating in the program can access the services of the PNP concierge.
- Prioritization & Invitation: Monthly invitations to eligible candidates are processed as per prioritization.
