British Columbia Provincial Nominee Program Entrepreneur Immigration

About BCPNP (British Columbia Provincial Nominee Program)
The BCPNP streamlines the process of obtaining Canadian PR (Permanent Residence). The program is governed by the provincial government of British Columbia in collaboration with IRCC (Immigration, Refugees & Citizenship Canada) and the immigration dept. (a federal body).
The process is executed in two steps
- Apply to become a provincial nominee
- Apply to the federal government for PR (after nomination).
There are three categories under which the applications are accepted
Skills Immigration
healthcare professionals, skilled workers, entry-level or semi-skilled workers, international graduates & postgraduates.
Express Entry
The province nominates eligible candidates through periodic draws (candidates are the same as in skills immigration).
Entrepreneur Immigration
Individuals that aim to stimulate the economy by operating a business in the region.

- To be eligible under any of the three BCPNP streams.
- To have a job offer of at least one year under an employer; based in British Columbia.
BCPNP Processing Time
Candidates under the Express Entry and Skills Immigration, have an estimated processing time of 2-3 months.
The ones applying for BCPNP under the Entrepreneur Immigration category have an estimated processing time of 6 weeks (counted from the day of their registration) for Registration Score Notification. It takes another 4 weeks (counted from the day of application submission) for the BCPNP status notification.
Lastly, the non-Express Entry PNP applications take around 15 to 19 months to get processes, presided by the IRCC (federal govt. level).
